$7.9 million funding to support Agricultural Shows and Field Days in Australia, now open!

The Australian Government is now inviting show organisations to apply to receive support under the Supporting Agricultural Shows and Field Days Program.

The purpose of the Supporting Agricultural Shows and Field Days Program grant is to provide operational support for agricultural show societies and organisers of agricultural field days that were forced to cancel their events scheduled between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Shows who cancelled but offered or plan to offer access to virtual show experiences online are also eligible.

A total of $7.9 million (GST exclusive) funding is available through this program. The maximum grant available (GST exclusive) is $10,000 for small agricultural shows and field days (up to 1,999 attendees), $15,000 for medium agricultural shows and field days (2,000 to 4,999 attendees), and $70,000 for large agricultural shows and field days (5,000 attendees and up).

Accepted expenditure items which includes website and ticketing costs, can be found on the eligible expenditure list (see Section 5 ADF Grant Opportunity Guidelines). 

This funding forms part of  $83 million committed by the Australian Government to support the growth and long-term sustainability of these important events. $21 million of this has been allocated for round two of the Supporting Agricultural Shows and Field Days program which includes this grant of $7.9m - Agricultural Shows and Field Days and $13.1m for Capital City Royal Shows.

The Capital City Royal Shows grant opportunity is expected to open in early 2022.
