SuperShow visits this years ASAO Conference

ASAO UK Conference welcomes SuperShow, the leading responsive show management platform

This year's ASAO Conference brought together the agricultural show and event sector for an inclusive programme of talks, workshops, trade showcases, networking sessions and social 'activities' over an engaging 3 days. With over 120 delegates from more than 50 of the UK's leading shows, combined with over 40 specialist show suppliers to set the scene for an unique smorgasbord of youthful talent and experienced stalwarts openly sharing ideas and knowledge in a friendly and progressive forum. ASAO Patron, HRH the Countess of Wessex, brought relaxed royalty to proceedings at the Hilton Aeges Bowl throughout Monday, with a strong focus on education and youth participation. Respectful but frank discussions and no-holding back debates highlighted many Show challenges, with timely joviality releasing the stressful pressures associated with the big Show days. Thoughtfully devised strategies to involve young people have been carefully considered and sharing these plans will help ensure the lasting legacy and tradition of Shows and country lifestyle events are safe for generations to come. The contribution the Show sector makes to local communities across education, culture and business is immense and one should not underestimate the impact it has directly on rural economies but far reaching into large towns and cities everyday as they open the fridge for the bottle of milk to pour on their breakfast of choice each morning - not to mention the global reach when our European counterparts dip some pork belly in some apple sauce and wash it down with a crafty tipple. We could do a lot worse than to teach our kids that the food we eat everyday did not come from the shop but from the soil in the field on a farm in our community.

The New Forest Agricultural Society certainly set the bar high with an exceptional programme in a welcoming, open and inclusive atmosphere. One can already sense the 2019 ASAO Conference of Discovery being hosted by The Royal Welsh Agricultural Society next November will shatter any boundaries put in place by the floundering politicians - could they learn from a key Show principle - we are all different but the same #asaoshows #asao #agriculturalshows #food #production #lifestyle #economy #business #open #nofrontiers #inclusive #education #youth #excellence #quality #community #volunteers #values #uk #brexit #
